Sunshine Yellow Hand Knit Dishcloths

Sunshine yellow, perfect for any bright & cheerful kitchen! 🌞 I’ve been waiting to try this color – and it’s wonderful, with lots of dark and light yellow and gold tones. I just wish Knit Picks had more solids that paired with this.

Finally Finished A Market Bag

This was such a great knit bag to learn on. Cute, stripey, and fun to carry – it makes a great project bag, beach tote or farmer’s market bag.

Spring Crafting Update

It’s been a busy few months! I’ve been learning how to knit and crochet clothing for 18 inch fashion dolls, and I am having a blast playing around with patterns (ok, and playing with the dolls), and creating some of my own patterns along the way.

Lately I’ve been trying to perfect a half double crochet top that I can start to offer in my Etsy store. But previously, I’ve been trying to make all sorts of things, from knit sweaters and jackets, to crochet hat and scarf sets. And of course messing up my studio along the way. Much of what I’ve been experimenting with has evolved during Twitch broadcasts, with some helpful advice from other crafters and viewers.

Probably my favorite project over the past month has been the Star Trek inspired knit sweaters and slacks set, which is available on Etsy.

I’ve loved playing around with the pattern, figuring out how to create the multi-color sweater, and breaking out the sewing machine to work on little stretchy slacks to offer with the sweaters. Finally understanding how to make little elastic waistbands, and how to get everything to fit the dolls, has been a lot of rewarding work. I have a lot to learn, but it has been a lot of fun seeing my crafting evolve.

Cabled Scarf Commission

I’ve been working on this one for a only a little bit – this is a cabled scarf that I’m knitting as a commission. Please excuse the lighting; it’s difficult to photograph dark blue and still see the detail, so the color has been brightened.

Slipper Time

It’s summer, and acrylic slippers are too warm for this time of year. I’ve been attempting to make cotton slippers, and haven’t success as the fabric stretches. I also haven’t found the correct tweak to the pattern I’m using – it will be a whole new slipper pattern by the time I’m done.

I’m back to the drawing board, as this pair didn’t work either (I call these the ‘Blue Monday Slippers). They mostly fit FraizePlays, but they’re a bit loose in the footbed and shift a lot when walking. I’ll get it right eventually though!
