October Knitting In Progress

There are I think 4 projects on the needles at this time, but this little waffle-weave blanket is my current focus.

While knitting, I’ve been watching episodes of The First 48, listening to Naked Heat by Richard Castle and Cold Days, Book 14 in The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.

You can find this knitting pattern here – The WARM WAFFLES BABY BLANKET by Suzetta. I’m making this blanket on size 8 circular needles, and using Vanna’s Choice (Lion Brand) yarn, in Dusty Purple (Color# 146). Once one gets used to the pattern, it knits up quickly and easily. I suggest using a counter while getting used to the pattern at first, and learning which side denotes which part of the pattern one is knitting. The blanket is very pretty and makes a wonderful baby or lap blanket.

I’m also creating a 2nd blanket (not pictured), using size 7 circular needles and Red Heart Soft yarn, in Off White (Color# E 728/4601). I think Size 7 works for the thinner 4-ply yarns, like Simply Soft. Enjoy!
